The certificate program may serve as a foundation for the two-year AAS Degree curriculum; the thirtyfour credits are more than adequate to meet the first year requirements of the two-year program. The program offers students an opportunity to acquaint themselves with some of the software currently in use on desktop computers. It introduces them to several application software packages as well as operating systems, networking, and personal computer hardware repair and troubleshooting. The curriculum also includes general education courses as well as electives. Hardware and software are updated frequently in order to provide students with current knowledge as they enter the job market.
